Woman (Henry Barragan)

Laid down herself.
Her body,
her soul.
Split her body,
mind, and heart.

Left herself at the gates.
Sitting, waiting,
wishing.
That one day a guy would
step up,
show up,
act up.
She gives away herself.
her mind,
her soul,
her body.
Lays it down for her daughter,
her family, herself.

--Henry Barragan
